Great value and Constantin, the host,
 was very accommodating and helpful.
 Breakfast was delicious. For me,
Host Tina worked nicely because I

I was very happy to stay at Tinahostel.
It could be little bit hard to find at the first
time, but except that everything was fine.
There is beautiful lake about 5min walk,
and convenient to shop at big mall also.
City center takes about 10min by metro.
Over all, host is nicest person I have ever seen!
Breakfast he makes is so delicious! I would
definitely come again if I visit Bucharest next time!

The host is really helpful, friendly and kind.
The breakfast is fresh and tasty. Location
is really cool, less than 10 min walk from
metro station and only 2 minutes walk to
a big park with lake and a shopping mall
with hypermarket. All good and highly
recommended.

This is the best hostel that I have ever stayed in.
The staff are so nice and very helpful. Everything
is so clean and you have a wonderful breakfast in
the morning as well as many hot drinks that you want.
There is a beautiful park and lake which is just a few
minutes away. There is also a newly built shopping
centre which is by the park. The centre of town is just
a few stops away from the nearby metro. The place
is also in a very safe part of town and also has fast free
 internet access.

It's a lovely little place, short walk from
the metro. (Bucharest's metro system is
really cheap.) It was really nice to have
a room all to myself, especially since it
cost the same as a bed in a dorm!
Constantine is really friendly and helpful,
and his omelette breakfast is delicious!
I did find the mattress a bit too soft
(which is okay if you like that sort of thing),
and the pressure from the shower head
wasn't the greatest. But perhaps I was
using the wrong one? Regardless, it
was great.

Being rather an apartment with rooms to let,
Hostel Tina may be recommended to all those
who want to find a nice place to stay away
from the crowds. Located in the neighbourhood
3 underground stops away from Piata Unirii,
with a friendly host who may give you a lot of
hints if you feel lost in the city. Still, even
though it is further than other locations, you
can come back even quite late without trouble,
Dristor area seems to be a safe place in Bucharest.
 Jacek from Poland 10 Nov 2016 94%
It was a very cosy and pleasant stay - ideal for single
travellers and couples, with a nice host and delicious
breakfasts. No limits on when you come back. Seems
to be quite far away from the centre but in fact it is not
 - it takes you 10 min to the metro and then 10 min to
Piata Unirii. If you come for the game at Arena Nationala
 - the location is also good! The area is safe.

Not so much a hostel environmemt but more like
entering a home! Constantin is a wonderful guy.
Friendly and gives advice and maps for Bucharest.
Nice quiet place to relax. Very clean. A little far
away from the center but close to the metro and
a huge modern mall and supermarket. Free
omelette breakfast every morning. I'd recommend
staying here.

It has been a relief after a month
 of traveling through Europe to
arrive in Constantine's care.
After a long day of travel he
showed me to my room and
offered to bring me a cup of
tea to my room. I happily accepted.
After a quiet night's sleep
he prepared a wonderful breakfast
of cheese omelette with sides of
 fresh tomato, cucumber and two
slices of bread.
While it's not your typical hostel,
it's more of a guest house located
in an apartment building, it's a
wonderful look into life here in Bucharest.
Constantine is friendly, warm,
and a pleasure to talk to. I very
 much enjoyed his company while
 he prepared breakfast and appreciate
 his generous hospitality. Even letting
me stay a few hours after checkout while
 I wait for my friends!
My many thanks to a wonderful host!

I recommend this tiny hostel. It is located
in the multifamily housing district nearby
the beautiful park. To find it, you have to
precisely follow the hostel instructions.
The place is safe. The owner is very helpful
and serves tasty omelette. Best value for money.

Constantin and his mother are both wonderful
host and friendly. When arrived at the hotel
Tina was greeted by Constantin and provide
me with information for metro times, local maps
and recommend places to visit. The apartment
was very quite, clean and tidy, the room was
comfortable and provide towels and access to
fast WiFi. I would recommend to have the home
made breakfast in the morning and this will keep
you full for the morning! I would come and stay
here again if visiting the city

Constantin was the best host I've had,
and I've been in many accommodations before!
He gave a lot of tips on what to do around the city,
provided a clean and calm environment and also

amazing, totally worth it already for that! As a young

Fantastic stay at Hostel Tina! We came in late on the train from Kiev, and were immediately greeted with a restful and rejuvenating atmosphere. Our host was incredibly attentive and helpful in recommending places to go, things to see, and how to get everywhere we wanted to go. Homemade breakfast every morning was AMAZING, and a great time to collect ourselves and plan out the day.

Essentially a dudes apartment in an average location
Pim from Australia  stayed August 2016,
 travelled as a couple
Stayed here for several days in early August.
As the title
suggests you are pretty much staying in a
 dudes apartment
(Constantine also shares this place with I
assume his mother..)
 converted into a "backpacker hostel".
Luckily When we were there it was pretty
quiet because despite
being small it could sleep up to potentially
6 (+2 owners/occupiers)
to share 1 bathroom. There's a kitchen but
 it's not really a place
suitable for self catering.
It's located in the suburbs in a large apartment
complex area
(apartment is on 9th floor) so it's a bit of a
mission to get to and find
when you first arrive. Several metro station
stops from main train
station and city plus a decent 10/15min walk.
Therefore when you
head into the town centre you are pretty much
committing your entire
day there. It is however a very safe neighbourhood
had no concerns
walking around at night and has everything you
 could need in terms
of supermarkets pharmacies etc
I do need to point out that the owner is lovely,
 helpful, charming in a
way and multiple notes in the "hostel" attest to it.
 Ultimately however,
even with the pricing, I'm pretty sure you can find
better elsewhere.

This is more a private flat than a hostel - and from the first moment Constantin and his mother have made sure I was feeling more than welcome. Exceptionally clean and cosy; simple but delicious breakfast; great view on the outskirts of Bucharest; not exactly close to the centre but not far from metro station; for runners: beautiful park in the neighbourhood. Should I ever visit Bucharest again, this is where I'd go!

Tis was the cosiest hostel I have ever stayed in, the host was so friendly and so helpful, although it is out of the city it is conveiniantly close to public transport and right beside the most beautiful lake! Constantin was very welcoming and a great host. He was very helpful and had maps and everything printed and ready for us when we arrived. He also suggested places for us to visit including a pizza place just down the road (club 16??) which I would highly recommend. Absolutely delicious. The hostel was a short and easy metro ride into the main square (around 1 euro). The breakfast of omelette and cheese was delicious and came with fresh bread! The only prob we had was finding the hostel! use map!

Constantin is a very nice guy. He is friendly and takes care of all guests. Though the hostel is far from the city center or down town, it is located in a quite residential area near to a beautiful lake. I recommend using Uber to go from hostel to the other places because it is very cheap and safe. So if you take Uber, You won`t have any problem with the location of the hostel. It was a bit warm during the day in the hostel. This was the only problem I faced during my stay at Tina Hostel.

The most caring host I've ever met. The apartment is extremely clean, and Constantin gave us a lot of advices to experience the city the best we could. I stayed with Constantin for two nights, and had the dorm to myself, which was a lucky break. It was quite warm, but there was a fan which made sleeping much easier. The hostel is in an apartment, and it is outside of the center, but the directions provided and the metro made it very easy to access. The price was good and they provide a lovely warm breakfast, and are very flexible with times for the breakfast. Constantin is also very happy to give advice and directions, and to have a chat, but also gives you your privacy when that is desired. A great place to stay.

I know it's kind of late to write this review since I last stayed here in June 2011. I was actually planning to spend a few nights here this year while heading to my cousin's wedding in Roman. From what I remembered, the host was hospitable and everything was neat, clean and well-arranged. I had to say the breakfast (fresh and handmade upon wake-up) was amazing and one of the best I'd had for years. The location was a little hard to find in a quiet small community, but it should not be a big problem with a metro station nearby. Definitely recommend it!

Firstof all Konstantin, the owner of the hostel, is very friendly and there for you, if you need something.
Furthermore tea, coffee and breakfast is included. The facilities are very clean, the rooms cozy and tidy and the view really good - an advantage of a flat in the 9th floor. ;) It was also great, that we could cook at any time and Konstantin's special spices are very tasty.

We absolutely loved our week at Hostel Tina. Constantin was an amazing host, going above and beyond. Ensuring we had maps of the city, an understanding of the metro system and a list of places to eat, and see that reflected local life was a wonderful treat. Incredibly safe, clean, and comfortable. A large breakfast, nightly tea, and evening conversations with Constantin made our time in Bucharest even more enjoyable :)

My friend and I really enjoyed our stay at Constantin's apartment. We get to travel quite a bit and rarely get to stay somewhere so cozy and welcoming. It was clean, quiet and situated very close to the city centre. We very much enjoyed Constantin's company, especially his delicious breakfast. I would highly recommend this place! Thanks Constantin! 16 Jan 2014 100% Dear Constantin, Thank you so much for your exceptional hospitality! From the moment we walked in, you ensured we were fed, had tea  and ready to experience Bucharest , with maps and your personal notes. With the two of us being new to long-term trave, we could not have found a better hostel to start our journey - you have set a high precedent for the future hostels we stay in!
Please keep us updated on how your training, and the marathon go. We wish you the best of luck :-)
Once again, thank you so much! Your generous heart and love for people helped to make our visit in Bucharest more than we expected.
Keep in touch and do let us know if you are in Canada!

Small and cozy hostel, great host
09 Jan  2014       94.30%     Hostel Tina is a mixture of couch surfing and a hostel. It's situated in an old communist building which was renovated from the inside. The flat is very clean and safe. The host Constantin is a very communicative and helpful guy who really wants to make sure that you enjoy your stay :)Homemade breakfast and some Romanian food was delicious.Location is about 10 min. to Metro and from there ~15 min. to the center. But the Metro is very cheap. There's a nice Italian restaurant nearby, lots of supermarkets etc. - all good!Unless you are a party rocker and want to go clubbing every night, this is the perfect place to stay!

05 Jan 2014 97.10% Liked: A unique chance to see the "real" Bucharest, as you're staying in the ninth floor of an old communist block in a residential area. More of a home-hospitality than a hostel. Konstantin is a great host and makes excellent breakfast and coffee, and he is always happy to provide useful information on local restaurants, tourist sites, taxis or the metro. The nearby park is great for runners.
Disliked: A bit far from the center, but it was just a few metro stops away and easy to find - on the other hand it was great to be away from the tourist areas so it's not much of a negative.

12 Nov 2013     100%        Hostel Tina run by a woman and her son Constantine. It is immaculately clean, everything works, the bathroom is spotless, the wc works, there is also loo paper – what a boon – and 9 floors up so the view is great and a kitchen, clean, with lots of utensils and dishes to borrow, and a frig also for food. And the added wonder to this was that there was one room as a 4-bed dorm complete with free 24 hour internet and a private room. While I was there in the dorm room, a party of 4 italians came so Constantine put me in the private room and let the italians have a room to themselves. So I got 3 nights at the same rate of, I have quite forgotten, no, it was 50 lei or equivalent to $A22pn for all the privacy. Did I enjoy that and did I use it you ask?. You bet I really indulged self.

12 Oct 2013        100%        The hostel Tina is in numerous reservation site than hostel classified, but de facto rather a private apartment. But we were still impressed. The apartment is super tied up to the bucharest subway network and the young operator is super friendly and helpful in every aspect. Also the booked collection at the airport late at night has problem-free folded. The breakfast was wonderful and right in the port we were with information, maps and recommended day trips almost smothered. However therefore we could our day in bucharest wonderful plan. So if you know, what you bay, then this is the very recommendable

Constantin is indeed a great host! So welcoming, helpful and flexible. We so highly recommend this hostel for a fully authentic taste of true life in Bucharest. The 3km round park with huge lake at the end of the road provided a perfect balance of city life with nature, whilst providing a genuine view into the lives of the locals who frequent the park as if their garden. Off the tourist trail, we felt privileged to have this 'real' experience. Many thanks Constantin for opening your home to us and making our stay in Bucharest so enjoyable :)

04 Jul 2011 100.00% Liked: We had the pleasure of staying here 2 times - in the middle we went to visit Brasov. Both times were great and we enjoyed our stay. Constantin cooked breakfast at whatever time worked for our schedule and wanted to make sure we knew where to go before we left. He is also ready with maps for you when you arrive and lights on the beds so you can read or see at night without disturbing everyone. Do what the hostel requests and print the directions as well as the map of the neighborhood. We arrived very late at night and were able to find it walking in the dark so with these tools it should be no problem. This is not a party hostel which is exactly what we wanted and why we liked it.
Disliked: Nothing. We have stayed in many hostels this year and have seen many different things offered. Maybe hooks on the ends of the beds or a little pocket/holder dangling on  the side of the bed to put your eyeglasses/wallet/watch in at night might be helpful. Even still the hostel is wonderful without those things. =)

04 Jul 2011 100.00% Liked: Everything was great. Constantine was always offering his help or assitance without even asking. What is written here on hostelbookers - you get from him! There is a Hollywood Movie theater nearby in the mall which wasvery good for us. In a real Romanian apartment building complex. Free computer to use in room with headset, could also print for free. Kitchen to use. Quiet area.
Disliked: Nothing. Might consider getting a microwave to making cooking times quicker and thicker shades to block the sunlight in the morning - but just put your head facing away from the window to help avoid this - or bring an eye mask.

One was an elderly lady who was such a kind person who made you feel like you were at home, the male staff member was also very friendly who had a good knowledge of the city and is an amazing cook (breakfast was awesome). I felt like I was staying at my grandmothers house as it was so cosy. The inside of the hostel it is amazing, looks brand new, very clean and modern facilities. You really felt like a guest, and they treated you so well, but still gave you a lot of space. The beds were exceptional - the mattresses had springs, not a limp piece of foam. Everything was spotlessly clean. Constantine cooks you an omlette in the morning, to get your going - ham, mushroom and onion. Scrumptious! The dorm has great views over the city as well. It's close to Dristor Metro Station, so you have access to the entire city by Metro. Great place. Highly recommended.

11 May 2011 100.00% Liked: The host is easily the reason this property is so good. He was friendly, makes great omelettes and i lost track of how many cups of tea he made me. The neighbourhood is an old communist era housing complex, but inside his apartment he has done everything up nicely with a nice bathroom and rooms. Only reason to not come here, is if you want a party every night, although the metro is close by to go out for dinner and drinks.

What did you like best about the property? The owner was really nice and friendly. We arrived quite late in the evening and he was still more than happy to help us. He provided maps and gave us a key to a locker for safe storage of passports etc. The owener also cooked breakfast in the morning when we were ready for it (which was amazing) and made tea/coffee for us. He also gave us lots of nice ice-cold water for our journey when we were leaving (very, very kind!!) :D

What did you dislike about the property?  The hostel and the owner are lovely but it is quite a small business. There is only room for about 5/6 people to stay so its not the ideal place to stay if youre looking to meet other travellers.

– Alone/as a solo traveler Liked: Constantin and his mother helped me and gave good advice about sightseeing in Bucharest. Also they provide a very nourishing breakfast of omlette and good coffee. There is a PC and multi - channel large screen TV in the dorm room. But this is really a cool living room with leather sofa. I was lucky and was alone on my visit, There is a decent food market and 2 good cheap resturants close by.
Disliked: Like 95% of Bucharest ,it is best to be back indoors by 10pm. Many places close by then, It pays to draw a small map as a reminder as the tall tower blocks can all look the same on the dark. There are many stray dogs around and they bark loudly at night though they do not seem to be dangerous. Just keep a distance! These are just observations on Bucharest and not the Hostel Tina.

What did you like: Our host Constantin was fantastic!! He spoke great English and cooked amazing omlettes for us in the morning and nothing was too much trouble. Location is good, close to metro and very easy to get to main part of town. Spotless, clean and comfortable with TV too in our room. Would stay here again in an instant if I ever returned.

-It's a very small hostel, so the experience is more like staying in someone's home. -The host (Constantin) and his mother are extremely nice, and can give good suggestions about places to go in the area, restaurants etc.. Constantin also recommended a movie for us when it was raining. -We got to the hostel very early in the morning, but were able to check in immediately. -Very clean -Breakfast is an omelette, which is a nice change from the usual hostel fare -Free tea/coffee and internet

Excellent facilities with a very welcoming staff to boot. I've stayed in Bucharest many times and this is by far the best option if you're bored with soulless hotels and looking for somewhere with a homely atmosphere. The breakfast is a real boon as are the facilities on offer. Constantin and his mum pay a real attention to detail and it's obvious they've had a considerable experience in hosting tourists. If you want a launch pad to explore the city with a base where you can share your experiences, and to be able to ask for advice Hostel Tina is definitely the place to stay.

This was a good hostel. Not in the city centre, but a fairly quick walk and train ride away (about 20-25mins altogether) Staying at this hostel is a good chance to experience living in a typical eastern europe apartment so if you've never had a chance to do this, you should.

The hosts are some of the friendliest people we've encountered - they made our stay super enjoyable. The rooms were very clean and the bathroom was always fresh. The location is not so bad - but it is a subway ride from most places of interest. However, a subway station is just a 10 minute walk from the hostel, which we found to be rather okay. This isn't a party hostel, but more of a relaxed, super clean, small hostel. In a way, more like a guest house than a hostel. The hosts are also very eager to please, offering tea whenever you come home and willingly sharing some Romanian specialties with you. If we ever go back to Bucharest, we will definitely stay at Hostel Tina again.

Constantin is a generous host who made us feel welcome in his home. We always had great conversations with him and he was helpful in offering advice on Bucharest. He greeted us with tea and a snack upon our arrival! The place is a quick walk to the metro which will get you anywhere you need to go in town & there are plenty of ameneties within walking distance from the hostel - it is great to spend time in a neighbourhood in Bucharest you may not otherwise visit. I'd highly recommend this place to stay for anyone who wants to feel at home while on the road and who wants to learn more about Romania and the culture of this beautiful country as Constantin is a great source!

Staying at Constantin's Hostel Tina is more like a home stay really - at a friend's place with all you could hope to find there: a warm smile, interesting talks, a good cup of tea or coffee, helpful advice on the city and country - oh, and for those who are on the rock side of life: Constantin's collection has great stuff on offer! The small and comfortable hostel is newly renovated and most probably the cleanest I've ever stayed in (and I've travelled a lot :-)). As to what the location is concerned, when getting there I thought it would have been more convenient to have stayed in the city center, but actually the metro takes you downtown quickly and I would not have wanted to have missed the insight into how Bucharestians live. The lakes and park nearby are a great place for a quiet walk or rest after a day in the buzzling city center. I will definitely come back!

The gentleman running the place was helpful, friendly, and interested in you as a person and the travels that you were doing...a super bonus was that his mom did my laundry at no cost...I could access the internet at no additional cost, as well.... he even offered to let me use his personal laptop.

My room had a flat TV with Satellite TV, a PC always online, Constantin was extremely helpful and I had the greatest time. Location is 10 minutes from the underground sttation, that for me is a bit too much, but in Bucharest taxis are really cheap so it wasn't so much of a problem. I will come back for sure! This hostel is based in a tower block that is common to much of the old eastern block. This should not deter you though as the beauty of this hostel is Constantin who runs the hostel. He is the perfect host being both friendly and helpful. He is there to accomodate you 24*7, and even got up for a chat until 4am one night, and got up at 8am to make sure we were up to catch our plane home. The hostel was very clean and confortable, indeed it was like being home. Constantin ois very helpful and he is always tehre to aid you in what you need. If you arrive late, however, I suggest that you ask for a taxi at the airport if you dont know if your flight is going to get delayed. There is a lot of offer at the airport. My plane got delayed for 1 hour and my luggage took about 40 minutes to get out, and when I got out, Constantin was not there. He had agreed to pick me up for 70 Ron, but whe I called him and he got there, he doubled the price, saying that he had waited for me a long time. If you ask Constantin to pick you up at the airport, make sure that you do agree on a price and he wont change it.
