It's a lovely little place, short walk from
the metro. (Bucharest's metro system is
really cheap.) It was really nice to have
a room all to myself, especially since it
cost the same as a bed in a dorm!
Constantine is really friendly and helpful,

Hostel Tina may be recommended to all those
who want to find a nice place to stay away
from the crowds. Located in the neighbourhood
3 underground stops away from Piata Unirii,
with a friendly host who may give you a lot of
hints if you feel lost in the city. Still, even
though it is further than other locations, you
can come back even quite late without trouble,
Dristor area seems to be a safe place in Bucharest.
It was a very cosy and pleasant stay - ideal for single
travellers and couples, with a nice host and delicious
breakfasts. No limits on when you come back. Seems
to be quite far away from the centre but in fact it is not
- it takes you 10 min to the metro and then 10 min to
Piata Unirii. If you come for the game at Arena Nationala
- the location is also good! The area is safe.

Not so much a hostel environmemt but more like
entering a home! Constantin is a wonderful guy.
Friendly and gives advice and maps for Bucharest.
Nice quiet place to relax. Very clean. A little far
away from the center but close to the metro and
a huge modern mall and supermarket. Free
omelette breakfast every morning. I'd recommend
of traveling through Europe to
arrive in Constantine's care.
After a long day of travel he
showed me to my room and
offered to bring me a cup of
tea to my room. I happily accepted.
After a quiet night's sleep
he prepared a wonderful breakfast
of cheese omelette with sides of
fresh tomato, cucumber and two
slices of bread.
While it's not your typical hostel,
it's more of a guest house located
in an apartment building, it's a
wonderful look into life here in Bucharest.
Constantine is friendly, warm,
and a pleasure to talk to. I very
much enjoyed his company while
he prepared breakfast and appreciate
his generous hospitality. Even letting

Fantastic stay at Hostel Tina! We came in late on the train from Kiev, and were immediately greeted with a restful and rejuvenating atmosphere. Our host was incredibly attentive and helpful in recommending places to go, things to see, and how to get everywhere we wanted to go. Homemade breakfast every morning was AMAZING, and a great time to collect ourselves and plan out the day.

Luckily When we were there it was pretty
quiet because despite
being small it could sleep up to potentially

it's not really a place

It's located in the suburbs in a large apartment

Therefore when you
head into the town centre you are pretty much
committing your entire

|04 Jul 2011||100.00%||Liked: We had the pleasure
of staying here 2 times - in the middle we went to visit Brasov. Both
times were great and we enjoyed our stay. Constantin cooked breakfast
at whatever time worked for our schedule and wanted to make sure we
knew where to go before we left. He is also ready with maps for you
when you arrive and lights on the beds so you can read or see at night
without disturbing everyone. Do what the hostel requests and print the
directions as well as the map of the neighborhood. We arrived very late
at night and were able to find it walking in the dark so with these
tools it should be no problem. This is not a party hostel which is
exactly what we wanted and why we liked it.
Disliked: Nothing. We have stayed in many hostels this year and have seen many different things offered. Maybe hooks on the ends of the beds or a little pocket/holder dangling on the side of the bed to put your eyeglasses/wallet/watch in at night might be helpful. Even still the hostel is wonderful without those things. =)

Constantine was always offering his help or assitance without even
asking. What is written here on hostelbookers - you get from him! There
is a Hollywood Movie theater nearby in the mall which wasvery good for
us. In a real Romanian apartment building complex. Free computer to use
in room with headset,could also print for free. Kitchen to use. Quiet
Disliked: Nothing. Might consider getting a microwave to making cooking times quicker and thicker shades to block the sunlight in the morning - but just put your head facing away from the window to help avoid this - or bring an eye mask.

Staying at Constantin's Hostel Tina is more like a home
- at a friend's place with all you could hope to find there: a warm
smile, interesting talks, a good cup of tea or coffee, helpful advice
on the city and country - oh, and for those who are on the rock side of
life: Constantin's collection has great stuff on offer! The small and
comfortable hostel is newly renovated and most probably the cleanest
I've ever stayed in (and I've travelled a lot :-)). As to what the
location is concerned, when getting there I thought it would have been
more convenient to have stayed in the city center, but actually the
metro takes you downtown quickly and I would not have wanted to have
missed the insight into how Bucharestians live. The lakes and park
nearby are a great place for a quiet walk or rest after a day in the
buzzling city center. I will definitely come back!

Customer reviewThe owner is very interested in meeting new people and them getting nice experiencies on their trip. Good english skills! The mother is so sweet and hospitable. Although not speaking that much english made you feel welcome!
|06 August 2009||
Customer reviewI have visited Hostel Tina twice, so now it is already very easy for me to find the place, and it wasn't too difficult even the first time. It is very nice to go to a hostel but still feel like visiting a friend, that's maybe the best part. The hostel is located close to a big park, so those who like to exercise outdoors will find this an ideal place.
|06 August 2009||
peter maxianThe owner is so friendly and helpful. The 'make yourself at home' feeling (mia casa e su casa ;-) made my stay much more enjoyable than I expected

Customer reviewI felt like I was visiting relatives, they were so nice and helpful. It was a nice home-stay version of a hostel. Already have recommended it to friends!
|18 July 2009||
Rita DahlVery cosy atmosphere, you are in the middle of Romanian family life (this is also their home). I have never met a hostel owner that offers coffee, tea etc. for free. Had some problems with guests who did not think much about other people, but that is not hostel' s fault. Air/conditiioning would be needed, room was very hot.
|17 July 2009||
Anders Ost lund OstlundThe manager is great and he is obviously a cleaing fanatic. It is very clean. Good and working computers too. Great with cable tv too.
|12 July 2009||
Customer reviewIt's extremely clean and comfortable, and the owner is SO nice.
|11 July 2009||
Tina LiuExtremely clean- really appreciated the free laundry!! Not too many beds, but met some cool people there anyways. Def not a party hostel, but if you want some place chill and still easily accessible by Metro, this is a great option. Also, it's right around the corner from a big fruit/veg market, which is convenient.
|05 July 2009||
Lisa Frandenfriendliness and helpfullness of the staff and security
|25 June 2009||
Christopher DoughtyOne of the best hostels I've ever stayed at. Free 24hr internet PC in your room plus flat screen TV. Everything is spotlessly clean. The owner Constantin is so friendly and helpful. He is always there and nothing is too much trouble for him. The hostel is convenient for the metro and trams and there is a lovely park with a beautiful lake nearby. Also, don't believe everything you hear about Bucharest - just be sensible and you'll enjoy it as much as I did.
|20 June 2009||

Max ThompsonConstantin, the owner, is a very helpful and friendly guy. He is available 24 hours a day also - superhuman effort. The 4x room is very spacious, with lots of room to breathe and a very comfortable seating area. The free internet access came as a welcome surprise. The hostel is located only 4 metro stops away from the centre of town, whilst still being in a quiet neighbourhood. Alot of travel and tourist information was provided in hard copy that proved very useful. Private television and dvd playing facilities.

Roberto Di PalmaMy room had a flat TV with Satellite TV, a PC always online, Constantin was extremely helpful and I had the greatest time. Location is 10 minutes from the underground sttation, that for me is a bit too much, but in Bucharest taxis are really cheap so it wasn't so much of a problem. I will come back for sure! |03 February 2008||
Dominic SaulThis hostel is based in a tower block that is common to much of the old eastern block. This should not deter you though as the beauty of this hostel is Constantin who runs the hostel. He is the perfect host being both friendly and helpful. He is there to accomodate you 24*7, and even got up for a chat until 4am one night, and got up at 8am to make sure we were up to catch our plane home. The hostel is very clean and has good features, and it is well worth a stay if you are visiting Bucharest.

Guilherme GiuglianiI liked, especially, the hospitality of his owner. He is always very kind with their guests.
|15 June 2007||
Customer reviewThe hostel was very clean and confortable, indeed it was like being home. Constantin ois very helpful and he is always tehre to aid you in what you need. If you arrive late, however, I suggest that you ask for a taxi at the airport if you dont know if your flight is going to get delayed. There is a lot of offer at the airport. My plane got delayed for 1 hour and my luggage took about 40 minutes to get out, and when I got out, Constantin was not there. He had agreed to pick me up for 70 Ron, but whe I called him and he got there, he doubled the price, saying that he had waited for me a long time. If you ask Constantin to pick you up at the airport, make sure that you do agree on a price and he wont change it.
|14 June 2007||
Customer reviewIt's a bit out of the way but not far from the metro stop- i was by myself and arrived late at night- have to say i was a bit scared trying to find the hostel late at night. But Constantine is a star very friendly.
|08 June 2007||
David GardnerConstantine is a lovely guy and very concerned that you enjoy your time there. It is 'just' an apartment in an anonymous nest of highrise but you are made to feel very welcome and the kettle is ALWAYS on. Beds are good and the lift has character. Hey, it's a budget hostel so you get what you pay for but it is clean, very friendly, and a good fit for Bucharest.
|29 May 2007||
Monica Fritz-ManolioIt was clean, and Constantine was very helpful. He arranged airport pickup for me, and offered me coffee, tea, and pretzels, and even let me take home a book that was in the room that I was reading.
|28 May 2007||

Hugh PritchardConstantine is the coolest. He is really proud of his high rating and does everything he can to keep it. its 2007. why everywhere dosen't have a wireless router is beyond me. Constantine has one and a computer in each room, too...free. Personally, I really liked the location. I saw a part of town I never would have seen, otherwise. The lake, nearby is peaceful and I felt like Constantine was going way out of his way for me.

Victor de BoerEverything is taken care of in Hostel Tina. Great staff, free coffee/thee every morning, they do your laundry for you. It's just like home, but then in a twelve-story grey apartment block in Bucharest. Anyway, great value for money!

Huay Koon TanThe hostel was cosy and extremely clean. Constantin is a very nice and friendly host. He makes tea or coffee for you whenever you wake up and come back from sightseeing. It's more like a homestay than a hostel. Good place to stay in.

Sarah PetschackThis place didn't feel like a hostel. A lovely small little place, Constantine allows you to feel totally comfortable in this city. From giving you metro maps, to offering you slippers...to putting on DVDs for you...to having your mint tea made for you ready when you get up at 6.30am. This place made my Bucharest experience much more special.

luisa seabraI enjoyed a lot this hostel because while i was there it really felt like being at home! The staff is very friendly, respectfull and helpful. The place is very clean, there is internet in the room and you can have a nice coffee or tea together with a nice talk with the staff or the other travelers. It felt very safe, home-like and therefore closer to the locals way of living. If i get back to Bucharest i will book the same place. I definitely recomend it!

Customer reviewI really enjoyed staying in this hostel. It's small and very quiet, but has a great, comfortable atmosphere. The people that run it are unbelievably friendly and I felt very safe there. It's a bit hard to find at first but once you're there, it's only a short walk to the metro station and on the way are shops, supermarkets, a fruit market and lots of small parks - it's really nice.
